Handbells – Soli Deo Gloria!

Handbells.

This evening, we prepare for handbell rehearsal. (The first real rehearsal is next week.) This is a time to gather and prepare. You see, at the beginning of each Fall, our handbell group assembles and prepares the room and the bells for the season of ringing in worship. Bell ringing requires lots of equipment. So, Bell tables get setup, handbells get polished, folders are prepared . . . and it is quite the task . . . but so worth it. There will soon be much ringing in the church. And what a wonderful sound it is!

Members of the Chancel Bells. David is the other bald guy with a goatee, in the second row.

As he did last year, my friend, David Lee, is assisting us with the handbells again this fall. David has many years of leading various handbell ensembles and choirs. He is a great handbell director — judiciously preparing the technical things that each person must know. He’s an excellent teacher.

So, tonight, on to bells, then Chancel Choir. Yes, we are preparing music for the glory of God! Soli Deo Gloria!

  1. Some much dedication from so many Christian people who also love being “dingle el lings”. We love you and you all do so much to add to our enjoyment by your hard work. Praise God to all of you and you are very blessed and you bless us. Love Kay Gooch
