And now . . . we wait.

We’ve finished with the first round of auditions. Like I said, some were ready and some weren’t. Some were wonderful and some were probably wonderful in the car but not in the tryout room. Empathy abounds.

I really felt for some . . . they got that nervous-vibrato-ohh-no-I’m-lost-so-I’ll make-it-up sound. Not a good strategy. To begin the process of auditioning for Texas All-State, it isn’t a good plan to just make it up. But, no tears were shed. Most we’re brave and did ok.

And now, we wait. BBQ is coming as we wait for some PM students. They have until 1pm to get here and make music happen. So, I’m sitting with about 45 local choir directors in the library of El Campo HS.

I’m pretty patient at waiting . . . most of the time. We’ll see how this goes because food is involved.
