Even the busiest of days can give you perspective on those things that take you time. Do I stop and thank God for busyness?
My day began at 5 am. I got up with my son Zachary, who was leaving to head to his welding job. The dogs and I had a wonderful walk as the weather was cool and the dogs were spirited. I entered myself in Christ by listening to Mike Slaughter’s sermon on how God is there in the midst of pain and struggle. It was a good beginning to the day.
Following that, I arrived at the church to prepare and setup for my Town Choir workshop. Bill worked with my boys today. They were excellent. They sang well and moved very quickly through their music.
The rest of my day was spent with some of our dearest friends – Jack and Rhonda Matkin. It was a great evening. The ladies worked on some great crafts while us guys watched college football. The day was ended with a great bowl of gumbo!
As I prepare to rest, I give thanks for busyness and activities that God has blessed me with —
– for a family who supports one another,
– for friends who help me professionally and those who help me personally,
– for friends in ministry at a great church,
– for college football Saturdays, naps, and gumbo.
Now, onto great worship at FUMC MoCity, TX and World Communion Sunday. See you there.
